Hey, my name is Wes Rogers - thank you for checking out Tacoma Dance Club!
I am a local dance instructor in the Puget Sound with over 15 years experience. I co-produce one of the largest dance nights in Pierce County.
I am a fun, laid-back person and am passionate about teaching Latin-style dances. I was introduced to the ballroom circuit when I was stationed in Kuwait while serving in the Navy. Back then, I was too shy to get on the dance floor - I felt like I had no rhythm and two left feet. I also wanted to build my confidence, and I loved how I felt when I danced. So, after A LOT of practice, I entered a Dancesport competition and was hooked.
Over the years, I competed and placed well in the American Rhythm division: cha-cha, rumba, East Coast swing, bolero, and mambo. I have also trained with world-renowned dancers in the American Smooth category: waltz, tango, foxtrot, and Viennese waltz.
I have a passion for teaching night-club style dances: salsa, bachata, Argentine tango, and West Coast swing.
Also, I specialize in teaching wedding routines, coaching clients for Dancesport events and choreographing performances.
